Lesson Platform

• Lessons will be taught in person for the most part but will occasionally be taught virtually.

• Students may request virtual lessons at any time.

Tuition and Fees
• TUITION is due on or before the first lesson of every month. Payment or post-dated checks for the term or the year will also be accepted. The rates are as follows:

• 30 minute lesson: $30
• 45 minute lesson: $45
• 60 minute lesson: $60

• Please be sure to remit by the 10th. Late payments upset my personal bill-paying process as well as my personal income. It is necessary to ensure that these payments are received on time. Therefore a $10.00 late fee shall be assessed for any payments received after the 10th of each month unless other arrangements are made with me.
• All Guild, Festival, Competition, or other such event fees are the responsibility of the student/parent.
• All Materials are the responsibility of the student/parent

Lesson Schedules and Home Practice
• Please be on time for lessons. Due to a narrow time schedule of students throughout the day, I will only be able to teach during your scheduled lesson time.
• The amount of time required for good quality practice will vary depending on the student’s age and playing level. As the student progresses, I will assign the specific amount of time for the student to practice throughout the week. The minimum level of practice for any student is five days a week. Parents, please ensure that your child’s practice sessions are specifically scheduled into each school day so that this minimum requirement can be met.
• Parents of young children (between the ages of 5-8) or learning impaired students: You will play a very important role in the success of your child’s piano playing career, and, especially during the first few years of their learning, it will be imperative for you to dedicate extra time and effort to help your child to progress efficiently. Your child will need structure and consistency in his schedule and diligence and creativity on your part to understand and grasp the concepts he will be learning during his weekly lesson.

Cancellations
• There are no refunds if you miss or cancel a lesson. Please let me know as soon as possible if a lesson must be cancelled for any reason.
• Cancelled lessons may be rescheduled within 30 days if my schedule permits.
• A lesson time is reserved for the student each week whether or not the student attends.
In the case that I cannot teach a lesson, you will be given the option of a make-up or credit toward the next months tuition.

Termination of Lessons
• If you feel you must terminate piano lessons before the end of the school year, please give at least one month's prior notice in writing or two weeks advance payment to compensate for the difficulty of filling an open time slot in a partial year.
• Because I see my time and your money as valuable commodities, I may deem it necessary to dismiss a student if any of the following situations persist after I have notified you and provided time to correct the problem.
• The student consistently demonstrates a lack of desire and self-motivation to learn to play the piano.
• The student continually misbehaves or disrespects the teacher during lessons.
• The student consistently fails to show diligence and responsibility in home practice, including failure to complete written assignments.
• The student or parent shows a consistent lack of dependability and commitment to piano lessons, characterized by frequent absences or chronic lateness.
